Bodrum Cruise Port, Virgin Voyages and the Municipality of Bodrum Join Forces for a Beach and Underwater Clean-Up
Bodrum, 29 September 2025 — Operated by Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operator, Bodrum Cruise Port continues its environmental initiatives to protect the marine ecosystem. In collaboration with the Municipality of Bodrum and Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady crew, a comprehensive Beach and Underwater Clean-Up was carried out at Kumbahçe Beach.
From car tires and plastics to glass, metal, and even unexpected items like a cooking pot, the clean-up revealed both the magnitude of pollution and the power of collective action.
“As the world’s largest cruise port operator, we see the pursuit of cleaner seas not just as a goal, but as a shared responsibility,” said Aziz Güngör, East Med Regional Director of Global Ports Holding.
“We sincerely thank the Municipality of Bodrum and the crew of Resilient Lady for joining forces with us. Their willingness to contribute to Bodrum’s community projects, even during a short stay between Rhodes and Mykonos, is truly meaningful.
At Bodrum Cruise Port, we will continue our commitment to protecting our seas and inspiring future generations to act with greater environmental awareness.”
The event once again highlighted that small steps can create lasting impact. By uniting local institutions, cruise lines, and port communities, Bodrum Cruise Port demonstrates that sustainability is not just a principle—it’s a way of life.
✨ Together, we can be the best for our world.
